The open-cut method is the most widely used technique for pipeline installation globally, particularly for gravity pipelines. Although it may initially appear to be a straightforward construction approach, its complexity increases significantly in urban settings and at greater depths.

This course is divided into two key sections:

1. The first section covers essential technical knowledge for securing the trench and establishing a safe work zone, highlighting the various options available for trench safety.
2. The second section focuses on proper pipeline installation techniques, including trench backfilling and the safe removal of shoring.
